Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. This is a therapeutic method used by specially trained physiotherapists to encourage natural healing, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body.

Acupuncture has strong evidence based research for treatment of a variety of orthopedic pain conditions including acute and chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, tension type and migraine headaches, pelvic girdle pain, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, and stress management.
